If so, now is the time to start looking! Why, you ask? Here are two good reasons:
Reason 1: With most new homes in Raleigh, production builders are taking about 6-7 months to build a new home from dirt. (Custom home builders take even longer, due to the home being ‘customized’, plus the fact that your architect needs time to design it.) This 6-7 months does not take into consideration any bad weather we may experience this winter. Sure, we did not have too many freeze or snow experiences last year, but this year is off to a cold start early on…so I can only imagine what it will be like come January/February. Anyway, let’s say you would like to move in July. This gives you time to get acclimated (and packed up) once school let’s out for the summer, and gives you some time to complete the move and get settled in before school starts again in August. Okay, so counting back 7 months from July…we have: June, May, April, March, February, January, December. So you should go under contract in December.
Reason 2: Many home builders offer Year-End Specials and Financial Incentives on new homes. These end of year specials typically expire by December 31st – and some even in mid-December. We all like saving money, right? So why not take advantage of this price slashing by some of the home builders in Raleigh? On our company Facebook page, we post many of these specials and incentives regularly (and year-round). You can “like” our page to stay abreast of the latest happenings and potential savings in the local new homes market.
Speaking of saving money…how would you like to earn a New Home Rebate when you purchase a new construction home in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill-Fayetteville market? This rebate amount is up to 2% the base price of your new home, and can be applied toward closing costs and other pre-paid expenses. Pretty awesome, huh? With Raleigh New Home Realty as your real estate broker, this can happen. Check us out at RaleighNewHomeRealty.com to learn more.
